Concealed Carry Handgun
Handgun Training Portion
Learn basic handgun nomenclature, safe handling, storage, loading, unloading, basic marksmanship, basic stance, grip, handgun maintenance, basic malfunction training and overall basic handgun defensive considerations.Learning NC Law Portion
A minimum of 2 hours will be spent on Legal matters. Learn provisions under NC common law and statutory law in which deadly physical force would be justifiable. Learn places and conditions in which a person with a valid NCCHP is legally able to carry a handgun. Learn places in which a person even with a valid NCCHP is not allowed to carry a handgun.Range Portion
The law requires that a minimum of 30 total rounds be fired from the distances of 3, 5, and 7 yards using a silhouette style target, 10 rounds from each distance. We require an additional 20 rounds to ensure you are capable, comfortable and confidant in your new skills. Safety is the number one goal of the entire class but even more so during our range time. Our goal is that you are an expert in firearms safety by the close of our course. The range portion is the most enjoyable portion for many clients. Bring 50 rounds of ammo, hearing and eye protection on your class day.What to bring
Eye Protection, Hearing Protection, Handgun, min of 50 rounds of ammo, snacks and lunch unless the Ballard's X Roads Grill is preferred as we only break for 30 min for lunch. If needed we are able to provide eye protection, hearing protection, ammo and handgun rental all included for $20 cash on the day of the class. Please note: THERE IS NO AMMUNITION OR STUDENT HANDGUNS ALLOWED INSIDE THE CLASSROOM.Note:CCH Classes may be rescheduled up to 7 days in advance of your scheduled class.
Handgun 101
$80 per person
Description:
This course provides basic knowledge necessary to safely handle, load, and fire most revolvers or semi-automatic pistols. Handgun 101 provides both the classroom and range time to give you the confidence and skills needed for success with handguns. This class will allow you to lay a strong foundation of familiarity, comfort and skill through:- Safe use and handling of firearms
- Responsible firearms ownership and applications of the handgun
- Components and operation of pistols and revolvers
- Firearms safety for the home
- Types, components, and purposes of modern ammunition
- Loading and unloading of pistols and revolvers
- Fundamentals of basic shooting techniques
- Preventative maintenance (cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and safe storage
NRA Basic Pistol Course

Description:
A pistol, or handgun, is a firearm designed to be fired while being held in one hand. While such firearms are small and compact, they can be the hardest to learn. Students learn:- NRA rules for safe gun handling
- Pistol parts and operation
- Ammunition
- Shooting fundamentals
- Range rules
- Shooting from the bench rest position and two handed standing position
- Cleaning the pistol
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of Phase I, NRA online instruction; PIN required.Advanced Handgun
Description:
The Advanced Handgun course is designed to provide hands on training, skills and techniques that will take you to a higher level of proficiency and comfort with your handgun.Please bring your firearm and any holsters or concealed carry systems you have. 200 rounds minimum required.

- Drawing from holsters
- Advanced handgun components
Prerequisites:

Plus USCCA Reference Book ($25)
Description:
Utilizing United States Concealed Carry Association training format by a certified USCCA instructor. Learn how to move off the "X", magazine changes and when to engage vs when not to engage in a firefight and legal implications to name a few. Flash sight picture vs point shooting and shooting from concealment is covered. Bring your eyes, ears, handgun, holster and at least 250 rounds of ammunition. Knee pads are recommended but not required. Students learn:- Shooting fundamentals review
- Developing defensive mindset and situational awareness
- Defensive marksmanship
- Safely drawing your handgun
- Defensive shooting stance
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of the Advanced Handgun class or permission from the instructor.Defensive Handgun II

Shooting in Low Light
Description:
The majority of defensive shootings take place at or after dusk, the very time we DON'T train! Join us in discussing the statistics, physiology of the eyes and brain and challenges of different low light variables. Immediately following the discussion we will move out to the firing line and train with our new knowledge. You are welcome to bring any caliber of handgun you would like, approximately 100 rounds of ammunition and at least two magazines if you have them. Registration will be limited to 11 shooters per class. Students learn:- Firearms safety review
- Illuminated sights vs. traditional sights
- Loading and unloading in limited light
- Weapon manipulation in low light
- Low light shooting stance

Winchester Marksmanship Qualification Program
Description:
Winchester is committed to the future of shooting sports, and has permanently endowed the official Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program. These courses are available for men, women, youth, and persons with physical disabilities. Qualification shooting is an informal, year-round recreational shooting activity that provides incentive awards for developing and improving marksmanship skills. The courses of fire in the qualification program are designed to take shooters from beginning skill levels (Pro-marksman, Marksman) through intermediate levels (Marksman 1st class, Sharpshooter, Expert) up to a nationally recognized skill level - Distinguished Expert - the pinnacle of the program. By the time a shooter completes the Distinguished Expert rating, he or she has attained a proficiency level paralleling that of a competitively classified sharpshooter.Prerequisites:
The are no prerequisites for taking this course, and the material is accessible to appropriately supervised mature children.Course Duration:

Shooters acquire the large discipline patch at the onset of the program and as each rating is earned, they are entitled to all of the corresponding awards for the rating. Each rating level has a skill rocker, medal, and certificate award that recognizes and highlights the achievement.NRA Personal Protection in the Home
Description:
Unlike the other basic courses, the Personal Protection course covers defensive shooting. Self-defense is a topic somewhat distinct from the regular diet of shooting fundamentals, it can cover mindset, legal issues, decision-making under pressure, and planning for the worst. The Basic Personal Protection in the Home course is designed around the use of the defensive pistol. Students will learn:- Basic defensive shooting skills
- Strategies for home safety
- Responding to a violent confrontation
- Firearms and the law
- How to choose a handgun for self-defense
- Continued opportunities for skill development
Prerequisites:
This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm). Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitude by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-course Assessment.Course Duration:
This course is at least 8 hours long. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition.Course Completion:
Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection in the Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure and Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet.Students will also receive a course completion certificate upon successfully completing course and examination.
NRA Refuse to be a Victim
Description:
The single most important step you can make toward ensuring your personal safety is making the decision to refuse to be a victim. This means that you must have an overall personal safety strategy in place before you need it. Students will learn common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of and a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive, and easy to follow. This seminar includes classroom instruction on:- Criminal psychology
- Automobile crimes
- Cyber safety
- Home security
- Crime prevention strategies
- Carjack avoidance techniques
- Use of personal safety devices
This is not a self defense class

The are no prerequisites for taking this course and the material can be understood by mature people of all ages.Course Duration:

Become a USCCA certified instructor; learn the methodology and skills to actively teach others.
This course is intended for those interested in instructing the United States Concealed Carry Association’s amazing platform and coursework. This is a two day course with an online prerequisite and a qualifying course of fire. Instructor candidates should be responsible and mature individuals who believe in the philosophy that United States citizens are their own first responders and should have the right to protect themselves in accordance with the law.
