“Life changes when your faith is rocked and your foundation is turned upside down” Award winning feature film.
The true story of a community’s journey out of the pit of despair and trauma after a high school teacher storms into First Baptist Church of Daingerfield, TX and opens fire with an arsenal of weapons in the first public shooting during a church service in the US in 1980. For 30 years survivors lived with secrets, anger, guilt and revenge.
The murderer’s detached and aloof wife describes the morning of the shooting when her husband tied her to a chair and loaded his car with weapons. The daughter speaks publically for the first time revealing the painful reason this attack took place and why she struggled with guilt for years.
In an unforgettable encounter, the killer’s daughter meets the mother of the murdered child for the first time. It is a rarely seen moment filled with anguish and compassion.
In the end, reconciliation and forgiveness brings peace to this community of survivors. They have not only triumphed but have learned to walk with courage and faith.
Directed by the amazing Jimmy Meeks, co-founder of the “Sheepdog Seminars”, this is a first hand account of how common, everyday folks can rise up and be sheepdogs.
